Compaigni V’ni Dansi is a unique company that performs Métis traditional, Métis contemporary and contemporary dance for audiences, professional dancers, communities, and youth.  The dance is very joyful and uplifting. We believe that our dance is healing for our audiences, as powerful as a prayer.  This experience extends to the professional dancers who perform and the youth and community who participate in classes and projects.  

By performing both Métis traditional dance and contemporary dance, Compaigni V’ni Dansi makes tradition relevant to the modern world.  Our traditional dances reflect the cultural heritage brought by our mixed ancestry (a blend of French, Scottish, Irish, English, Scandinavian and First Nations) creating our own unique dance and culture.  We also seek out contemporary dance and artistic collaborations that bring new light and understanding to traditions. Our company is unique in BC – bringing Métis traditional dance to the Lower Mainland and offering dance workshops to various locations across BC and Canada.  We have especially strong ties to Saskatchewan and Manitoba – to communities such as Batoche, Regina, Saskatoon, and St. Laurent and to artists such as Maria Campbell, John Arcand and Robin Poitras.
